Happy Birthday Dave!

Wow, it’s been a month since I’ve posted anything! I’m so sorry I’ve been away, but holidays, man. It sucked the life out of me. Hope everyone else had a well rested year end!

For the first card of the year I’ve made a Birthday Card for my significant other’s friend Dave.

For the longest time I’ve had a bunch of Pure Innocence stamps that are just sooo darn cute, never had a chance to use it since I’ve always been on Design Teams and using sponsor images. This time was different! Fun!

Especially also because MFT is now hosting their own challenge blog!! So for the first time I’m entering my card in their challenges. You bet there will be many more to come! This is the sketch I’ve used for my card!

And here is my card using the PI Policeman Stamps. I’ve also used the By the Numbers die set. The “Celebrate” sentiment is also for MFT, it was a bonus stamp set I got for spending over $60 so unfortunately it did not come with any packaging. The background embossing folder is a very old set I had from Provocraft.

Milk Coffee DT Call

Milk Coffee Stamps is having a DT call and when I found out, I was jumping for joy and whipped out one of the favorite digi’s I have on my computer 🙂 I used the digi Annabelle. Isn’t she adorable!? The theme for the challenge was paper piecing so I used the same polka dot pattern paper for her dress and balloons. I honestly have to admit paper piecing is NOT my forte, I normally avoid it at all costs. But for the sake of this DT call it’s gotta be done! I gotta say I really love how it turned out and who knows, I might actually make a second one with another fab digi in my stash!

I guess in reality it’s more of a Orange / Turquoise colour…I was a little colour blind when making the card so mine turned out a little more pink. Oops! Back to the challenge! Our awesome sponsor this week is Bugaboo Stamps and I’m using image Brat Cupcake Wagon for my card!

Make sure you link up for a chance to win 7 digi images of your choice! SWEET!

I’ve used a fabulous sketch from Papertake Weekly

Happy Birthday Bond!

It’s been a while since I made a custom made birthday card for my friend. I mean yeah I made cards and have them to friends…but this was personally made. You see, my friend Bond loves soccer, if you or your significant other knows anything about Fifa, this guy has bought and played faithfully all the Fifa games on Playstation. Yes…I’ve known him and his wife for over 10 years…X number of Fifa games and 2x the amount of wifey complaints 😀

So can you guess which team is his favorite? It’s pretty easy so I’m not even going to say!

For this card I faithfully used my favorite stamp in the world The Greeting Farm, Soccer Ian digi. I thought I was going to have problems with his hair, but It actually quite like how it turned out!

I’ve had this set for over a while and haven’t had the chance to use it. So here it is! I’ve embossed the background with a flower embossing folder, I’ve had it for a while so I have no clue what the name of it is! The sketch I’ve used is from Papertake Weekly:

FFF/DTT

It’s been a few weeks since I participated in the challenges over at Splendid Stamping and thought its a perfect day to whip out the good ol TGF stamps!

Ive used Nahla from the Roll Call WS Collection #1 and paper pieces her overalls and the bow on her pigtails.

I used the sketch from Double Take Tuesday:

DTT-1-22-13-Suzanne

20130128-160159.jpg

20130128-160206.jpg

There is one thing different Ive used and its the black ink. I recently switched over (trial stage) to Stewart Superior Noir Black Palette and so far so good! I still find that Versafine gives a better crisp black line for the stamped image. But after all the coloring you don’t really notice it as much. I know tons of my fellow crafters use Memento Dye ink and recommends it. I guess I’m just picky with my black crispy lines 🙂 I find that the Memento Ink doesn’t give a nice image for my TGF stamps. However, on fine lined images like Magnolia you can’t tell the difference at all. I did a product comparison post a while back if you would like to see the difference between Memento and Versafine (here).

I’ve used following products:
Spellbinders – Classic Postage Stamp, Fancy Flourish, Fancy Framed Tags Two (some new things I recently added to my collection!)
My Mind’s Eye – Lost and Found Two: Blush 6×6 Paper Pad
TGF – Roll Call Kit Collection #1
Copics – Hair: E79, E77, E74, E71 / Shirt: R27, R24
